In the UK our warehousing facility occupies 40,000 square feet and in the Netherlands we have recently engaged with a 3PL to carry out logistics services into Europe.

TNS in Ireland has recently been acquired with the intention that we will fully integrate the business into CMS by 1st July which will expand our UK, European and in addition Asia/Pacific business.

Job Objectives of the Operations Director 

Reporting to the COO, the Operations Director will have a business critical Board level position.  Working with the Senior Management team you will develop and execute the trading strategy for all channels that supports the business objectives.

You will take specific responsibility for managing an international logistics operation that underpins our core business.  You will additionally be involved in all wider business decisions, so you will truly play a crucial part in the overall strategy.

The Operations Director will have successfully managed operations within a time critical logistics environment. Commercially astute, you will have a natural instinct for optimising costs as well as a track record in customer service and operational delivery.

As the Operations Director you will be responsible for driving change and continuous improvement through a management team and structure based on embracing the core values of the business.  Creating a framework and building a robust infrastructure to support the expansion and growth plans, for the next two to five years, will be critical to the performance of the overall business strategy.

You will blend your leadership capability with your natural instinct for the development of systems and resources to create a competitive logistics function.

Skills Required of the Operations Director

You will keep many ‘plates spinning’; preparing budgets, delivering profitability, handling business logistics and ensuring employees are being suitably managed and developed and much more.   Therefore, your ability to multi-task, remain calm and be able to communicate effectively are key to success.

Proven experience in a senior Management/Director role within a time critical logistics environment.

Good judgment and the ability to make sound decisions will be required particularly when handling complex and difficult situations.
