Job Objective

The Product Manager is responsible for owning the Vendor relationship for his/her product category, being an expert in their market(s), and providing a platform to sales for maximising revenue & margin. The candidate has knowledge of the data migration,protection and recovery sector. They are credible in the eyes of both the vendor and the customer with their product knowledge and commerical skills.

Key Role Responsibilities of the Product Manager

Vendor Relationship

•Cultivate CMS relationship at all levels with the vendor – the objective being improving the company’s presence as a customer.

•Coordinate main line of communication with the Vendor and be the first point of escalation with CMS should any issues arise from another dept.

Business Planning

•Take ownership for discussing and agreeing quarterly business plans (in conjunction with Line Manager) for the category with all major vendors.

•Provide regular performance updates against agreed business plans to both the vendor and CMS Market knowledge

•Constantly improve knowledge and understanding of the markets which we operate in for the product category(s).

•Identify market trends & outlooks to provide confidence for making strategic business decisions. Commercials

•Negotiate favourable pricing where possible and present deal opportunities to the Business Units.

•Negotiate favourable targets and rebate structures with each vendor. Responsibilities

Skills Required

Keen knowledge and interest in the data migration,protection and recovery sector with the ability to communicate effectively to all audiences.

Persuasive with strong communication and influencing skills.

You’ll be a self-starter; highly proactive in building business with new and existing customers. You will have strong attention to detail, hard working, ambitious and keen to learn and advance. Ideal candidates for this role will be efficient, adaptable and have strong administration skills. Creative and passionate about individual and Company success. Passionate about meeting and beating targets. Proven track record as a Product Manager. Strong user of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel. Customer/Vendor facing experience. Ideally established relationships within the IT Channel.
