Drone Business Development Manager

Location: London

We are looking for an individual to set up and manage a Drone Enterprise business within CMS.  The successful candidate will actively introduce, promote and be an ambassador of the Enterprise Drone brands, notably DJI. This role will be responsible for driving growth to new and existing customers across our Group and for determining the resourcing requirements to facilitate this.

The BDM will be responsible for Drone Enterprise from end to end, being an expert in their market, and providing a platform to sales for maximising revenue & margin.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in either Product Sales Manager/Business Development with an understanding and experience of the Drone Enterprise channel
  • A passion for driving and delivering growth in current and new channels
  • Tenacious, target driven, and results orientated
  • Excellent communication/influencing skills – ability to communicate eloquently in both written and verbal formats
  • Excellent motivational and leadership qualities with a passion to achieve exceptional results
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Experience and skilled in budget management
  • Outstanding organisational skills and ability to manage own time effectively
  • Willing to travel on business as required

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achieve/exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets by driving the brand awareness with the sales team and customers
  • Develop and maintain CMS relationships at all levels with the Drone Brands
  • Develop and implement best practices to maximise pipeline creation, customer conversion rates, forecasting accuracy and cross-functional collaboration from vendor to customer
  • Identify the key verticals and customers, to develop and create a business plan for Drone Enterprise
  • Identify and pursue key vendor targets in the category
  • Coordinate regular vendor visits and update brand/range overviews to sales teams
  • Take ownership for discussing and agreeing CMS/Drone Enterprise quarterly business plans and provide regular performance updates
  • Work alongside the CMS sales teams to identify and introduce these vendors to new and existing customers and to grow into new markets
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the top customers and ensure they are provided with accurate proposals, collateral and other information as require
  • Constantly improve knowledge and understanding of the markets which we operate in
  • Identify market trends & outlooks to provide confidence for making strategic business decisions
  • Identify potential product, technologies or brands that would complement the current range and add value to the vendor portfolio
  • Negotiate favourable targets and rebate structures with the vendors for ongoing profitable business and take responsibility for coordinating all Vendor rebates
  • Ability to set pricing strategies and maximising profit where possible
  • Take responsibility for and sell through of aged stock
  • Create, document and distribute quarterly business plans for these brands and CMS on a quarterly basis
  • Attend appropriate shows and exhibitions representing CMS and the vendors within the UK and Europe
  • Develop, define and own the service proposition within Enterprise Drones
