As many businesses adapt to the confines of working from home and reducing working commitments in these changing times, the CMS values of connecting technology to customers continues as our key workers in distribution support the need to keep business moving.
Like many businesses, CMS has had to adapt quickly to the rapidly changing situation caused by the spread of COVID-19 and the related control measures. CMS distribute products which are critical to the modern workplace and remote working, including several software solutions, portable audio equipment, and technology for broadband data management. This means that CMS logistics solutions are critical to getting essential goods to our clients and end-users.
In order to maintain that capability, our fantastic logistics team in Castleford have had to show real flexibility and resilience, moving to different working patterns and splitting teams up to maintain capacity in the event of infection.
A range of measures has been deployed to ensure the health and wellbeing of our logistics team while they work tirelessly to ensure that product is receipted and picked & packed to dispatch to our clients on tight deadlines. Additionally, the delivery partners that CMS work with have taken similar measures to play their part in the end to end supply chain. Just like many people involved in logistics and distribution, we only notice what they do when they are not able to do it – so while we do not want to put that statement to the test at CMS, we do want to celebrate our logistics team and the great job that they do.
Supporting our Partners
The CMS logistics centres are fully operational and stocked – CMS will continue to operate under stringent measures by operating only with essential staff and splitting our workforce into shifts, complying with government social distancing and hygiene measures. For a limited period, we will be offering free of charge storage in our UK warehouses for vendors and customer to drive the availability of key products at this time*
The CMS courier networks are fully operational, and we have well-established business continuity management systems in place to minimise disruption to our operations and ensure that business remains viable in an event of a virus outbreak. We have taken additional steps to ensure adequate preparation for business continuity with tests over the past 2 weeks to ensure that the service delivered to our customer and vendor partners remains uninterrupted and consistently high.
CMS and its partners are committed to helping ensure business continuity in the current climate. As COVID -19 continues to spread we would like you to know that we’re taking action following government policy. We will update all its partners and customers as to our business strategy in the weeks and months ahead. https://www.cmsdistribution.com/covid-19/
