Energy Strategy

At t CMS, looking after the environment is important to us and something we strive to improve year-on-year. 

This policy will assist to deliver a healthier and more sustainable environment, as well as associated cost efficiencies, to the benefit of our people, customers and the communities in which we operate.

CMS is proactively becoming more energy efficient and aims to do the following by 2025: 

1. To uphold legal and other requirements regarding energy use, consumption, and efficiency. 
2. Switch our current energy contracts to those who only use 100% renewable power, such as solar, wind and biomass. This supports CMS’s goal of becoming Net Zero in Scope 1 and 2 by 2026.
3. Explore the expansion of our solar panel capacity and generate our own clean and renewable energy. 
4. Continue to reduce our energy consumption across all our sites by upgrading fittings to LEDS, Smart Home Tech, and by installing sensors to low traffic areas to reduce energy wastage. 
5. To complete regular and continuous consumption reviews with our energy providers to highlight any opportunities to further reduce usage at different times of the day.
6. Continue to implement the recommendations of our annual ESOS audit across our sites.
7. To promote and encourage policy awareness amongst employees and increase awareness by communication and knowledge sharing.
